Fourth Concert of the 2008-09 Season

The Czech Symphony Orchestra Thursday, February 19, 2009 - 8:00 p.m. Sacramento Community Center Theater

The Czech Symphony Orchestra was established in 1954, and in a short time it became one of the foremost symphony orchestras in the country.  Since its first tour abroad in 1958, the Czech Symphony Orchestra has visited most of Europe, the U.S., Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.  This orchestra has been known for the music of many Czech composers.  However, its repertoire goes far beyond those composers and includes Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Strauss and Schumann, and others.  Joining the Orchestra will be pianist Derek Han, graduate of Julliard.  Some of his recent engagements include appearances as soloist with Moscow State Symphony, Budapest Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.   For more information on the Czech Symphony Orchestra, click here..
